Surcharged chambers and manholes
A chamber holding foul water cannot be inspected or worked in. Vacuuming it down to the benching exposes the channel, shows which branch is holding back, and makes the run safe to survey and jet.

Standing water, silt, sludge and flood water vacuumed out and taken away by the same firm that cleared the drain, so there is no second contractor and no second wait.

Clearing a drain is only half the work. A surcharged chamber holds standing sewage, a silted gully holds compacted grit, a flooded garage holds several inches of dirty water, and an interceptor holds sludge. None of that resolves itself when the blockage moves; it has to be physically removed, and it has to be removed rather than pushed into the next part of the system.
So Drainage Solutions carries out wet vacuuming and waste removal in house on every job that needs it. Chambers are vacuumed down to the benching, gully pots emptied to the base, channel sumps cleared, and standing water lifted from floors and hard surfaces. What comes out goes with us. That is the difference between a drain that is genuinely clear and one where the blockage has simply been relocated ten metres downstream.
It is also available as a service on its own: flooded cellars and garages, water left after a burst or an overflow, silt after building work, and site clean-up where water needs shifting and there is nowhere for it to go.

Silt and sludge that are flushed onwards rather than removed do not vanish. They settle at the first point where the flow slows, the next chamber, a shallow-fall section, an interceptor, and start building the blockage you will be paying to clear in a few months' time. Moving waste along the system is the cheapest thing a contractor can do and the most expensive thing for the customer.
Standing water inside a building has its own clock. Foul water spreads into porous surfaces and under floor coverings within minutes, and every hour it stays makes the drying and the smell harder to deal with. Contaminated water in a garage or cellar is also a hazard around stored belongings, electrics and anything that will be handled later.
Debris pushed downstream settles wherever the flow slows and becomes a fresh blockage, often somewhere less accessible than where it started.
Foul water carries pathogens. In homes with children or pets, and in any food or care setting, standing sewage is not something to leave for a day.
Water soaking into flooring, plasterboard and stored belongings causes damage that continues long after the water is gone, and drying is far harder once it has spread.
A chamber full of foul water cannot be surveyed, jetted or repaired safely. Removing it is the step that makes everything else possible.
When clearance and waste removal come from different firms, you wait twice and pay twice, and the site stays unusable in between.
Where the water is, roughly how much of it there is, and whether it is foul or surface water. That determines what comes off the van and how the site is handled. Answered 24 hours a day.
Access established, the area made safe, surfaces protected and the source identified, because extracting water without stopping the source only buys an hour.
Standing water, silt and sludge vacuumed out: chambers to the benching, gully pots to the base, floors and hard surfaces cleared.
With the water out of the way the drain can be surveyed, jetted or repaired, all by the same firm on the same visit rather than a separate call-out.
Surfaces washed down, chambers checked running clear, and the area left in a state you can actually use.
Everything removed leaves with us, and you are told what caused the situation and what would stop it recurring.
Clearance, survey, repair and waste removal from the same people, so nothing waits on another contractor's diary.
Silt and sludge leave the site rather than settling in the next chamber to become a future blockage.
Answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Water inside a building is measured in hours, not working days.
Vacuum extraction lifts contaminated water rather than spreading it across floors and into soft surfaces.
Emptying a surcharged chamber is what makes surveying, jetting and repair possible on the same visit.
Surfaces washed down and chambers reseated. The site is usable when we leave, not just drained.
The same equipment covers a wide range of situations across Hampshire property.

These are designed to collect silt and protect the run beyond them, and they only work while there is capacity left. Vacuuming to the base restores it; skimming the top does not.
Water below the level of the drainage has nowhere to go by gravity, so it has to be lifted out. Extraction gets the volume off the floor quickly and stops it soaking further into the structure and stored belongings.
Contaminated water is extracted rather than mopped, surfaces are washed down, and the cause in the drainage system is dealt with on the same visit so it cannot happen again that night.
Construction, landscaping and driveway works generate fine material that ends up in every gully and chamber downhill. Clearing it before it hardens saves a jetting job later.
Commercial sites carry fittings designed to hold material back from the sewer. They only work while they are emptied, and neglecting them is one of the most common causes of commercial drainage failure.
A camera cannot see through silt and a liner will not bond to a dirty pipe. Vacuuming is frequently the first stage of a survey or a repair rather than a job in its own right.
Domestic work is usually a chamber, a gully or a flooded garage. Commercial work brings volume, hygiene requirements and the need to get a site trading again, often outside normal hours.

It depends on the volume, the access and whether the drainage cause needs dealing with at the same time. You are told what is involved before work starts, and nothing is priced on a guess.
It leaves with us. Wet vacuuming and waste removal are handled in house, not subcontracted, so nothing is flushed into the next chamber to become someone's problem later.
Yes. Contaminated water is extracted rather than mopped, the affected surfaces are washed down and the drainage cause is dealt with on the same visit.
Yes, wherever the cause is drainage. Once the water is out of the way, the run can be surveyed, jetted or repaired there and then, by the same firm.
Yes. Water below the drainage level has to be lifted out mechanically, which is exactly what this equipment is for.
Yes: kitchens, pubs, care homes, yards and managed sites, including interceptors, grease traps and catchpits, planned around trading hours where the situation allows.
It depends entirely on the site and how much material it generates. They only do their job while they have capacity, so a schedule set by how the system actually behaves works better than waiting for a failure.
