So Drainage Solutions is run by James Wood from a base on Cutforth Way in Romsey. It is a Hampshire firm working a Hampshire patch, not a national brand passing your job down a list to whoever happens to be nearest.

We work for homeowners with a blocked toilet on a Sunday night, landlords and letting agents dealing with a drain in a rented property, managing agents responsible for communal runs, and commercial premises, pubs, restaurants, shops, care homes, offices and managed estates, where a drainage failure stops trade.

Fourteen years in the trade covers a lot of Hampshire pipework: century-old clay under Victorian terraces, post-war estate runs at the age where joints open and roots get in, and brand-new plastic runs on estates finished last year. Very little of what we find below ground is new to us, which is why we can usually tell you what is likely happening from your description on the phone.

What we specialise in is finding the cause rather than only shifting the symptom. Anyone can push a rod through a blockage. Putting a camera down afterwards is what tells you whether it will be back in three months, and that is the part most people have never been offered before they ring us.
